A big Welcome to all our new MacGregor owners, we hope you be able to come to these great events!

All of our events are free  for anyone who bought their boat from Blue Water Yachts (except for moorage fees at the rendezvous), this includes MacGregor owners and any of you who have purchased your larger move-up boat from us.  Nearly all of the owners with larger boats that you will meet at our rendezvous are past MacGregor owners whose love for sailing just outgrew a 26 foot boat. They are a great source of information and knowledge about cruising and sailing and are frequently seen helping us out during the events, feel free to ask them questions.  If you own a MacGregor that you didn't buy through us, you can purchase a membership if you desire.  Memberships are for the the lifetime of your ownership of the boat you register with.  Purchase price of a lifetime membership is $395.  Or $20 per each Seminar or one day event and $100 for one couple and one boat to attend the rendezvous.  Please call our office for details and to make reservations for events, call 206-282-4261 Select option #2 to reach Gail.

Our seminars are a great beginning to the new season and the upcoming rendezvous will be lots of fun. Our events are designed to be very helpful and fun for beginning sailors as well as those of you with more experience.  We encourage all of you to attend!!  Meeting new friends and fellow sailors is one of the extra benefits of attending our events. In previous years rendezvous have been held at Friday Harbor, Poulsbo, Port Orchard, Bremerton, Gig Harbor, Oak Harbor and La Conner.  All have been very successful with a growing attendance.   This year we have decided to return to Port Orchard with plans for our biggest event to date, our 21st Annual Rendezvous!    We expect over 100 people to attend with over 50 MacGregor boats.  This is the largest group of MacGregor boats in the country and lots of fun to see!  The rendezvous is a great opportunity to explore new cruising ground with the comfort of a group, make new friends,  or simply a good excuse to visit a friendly familiar port.   We even have live music on the dock with Dave Calhoun playing tropical rock music!

FEBRUARY  20 Wednesday 6:30 pm  Beginning Sailing

Held at Blue Water Yachts office on Westlake Ave, Seattle.

This seminar is for new sailors, or a refresher for more experienced people.  You will learn the basics of sail trim and how to get your boat to sail in the direction you really want to go.  Always a popular seminar.  Refreshments will be provided.

MARCH  19 Wednesday  6:30 pm  Sailing Refresher Course

       Remembering the lessons learned last year & tips for more successful sailing!

Held at Blue Water Yachts office on Westlake Ave, Seattle.

At this seminar we will discuss the lessons that everyone should learn in their first year or two with their MacGregor as well as some discussion of sail trim details.  While a little more technical than Beginning Sailing, this seminar is geared to the cruising sailor and will be useful to both new owners and those with more experience.  Call to reserve your space! Feel free to come again, even if you’ve been to this seminar before.  Refreshments will be provided.

APRIL  9 Wednesday 6:30 pm  Navigation and GPS

Held at Blue Water Yachts office on Westlake Ave, Seattle.

Learn basic navigation and GPS use.  We will discuss reading traditional paper charts as well as the operation and basic navigation features of the Garmin GPS units we have installed on many of your boats (178, 498, 440S, 545S)

MAY 4 Sunday 5:00 pm Rendezvous Planning Meeting and Cruising the San Juans Slide Show.

If you are planning to attend the Rendezvous next month this will be very informative.  You will learn our route and plans.  If you are unfamiliar with the route to Port Orchard, or are new to our Rendezvous you should try to attend.  As an added bonus, Cheryl and Todd  will be presenting a slide show of their favorite cruising destinations in the San Juan Islands, a must see for anyone who likes cruising.  This seminar is newly updated for 2008.  Refreshments and light food provided.

JUNE 26 - 29th Thurs.-Sun. 20th Annual Rendezvous

         BWY MacGregor & BWY Owners Rendezvous

This is the biggest and best event of the year! Last year we had 50 boats and over 100 people attending!  There will be a group sail (or motor, depending on conditions) available from Elliott Bay Marina on Thursday in time to arrive at the marina in Port Orchard for a welcome party at 6:00 pm.  Friday and Saturday will be filled with lots of fun events, details for Friday and Saturday will be available at the Rendezvous planning seminar, and will be mailed to those of you who are registered for the event, be sure to give us a call to let us know if you plan to attend.  

Friday:     Seminars, Open Boat, Pot-Luck Dinner and other fun events

Saturday:  Group sail, Blue Water Yachts BBQ and Awards, Live Tropical Rock Music by Dave Calhoun

Sunday:     Depart at your leisure, head off to 3rd of July at Poulsbo if you wish for great fireworks!

Plan your vacation around this event, stay an extra few days so you can spend the July 4th holiday on your boat ! Reservations are a MUST and we recommend you call early as space is limited. Please try to reserve before June 1, 2006. We will do our best to accommodate people in the last minute, but you may be located on the breakwater dock, and likely will not have power available.
