Sails The lifespan of your sails depends greatly on how much you sail, how much wind you sail in, and how well you care for them. Typically, sails can last from 5 to even 10 years. For long life, keep your sails clean, protected from the sun, and not stored wet. Sails can (and probably will) mildew if put away damp or if stored over the winter inside a boat with no heat. Always spread the sail out to dry before storing. When trailering a boat with the sail on the furler it is a good idea to have it covered. If the sail is loose, it can flap around in the wind and can be badly damaged or destroyed very quickly. Please click on your model of boat, and you will see a list of available sails. MacGregor 26X: The original 26 Powersailer, built from 1995 through 2002 MacGregor 26 Classic: The first water ballast Mac, built from 1987 through early 1995, early models had a vertical daggerboard, later models had a swing centerboard, all use the same sails, similar rig to the Mac 25, but headsails are cut differently. Macgregor 25: Similar to the Venture 25, but NOT the same sailplan, built from the mid 1980's through 1987, fractional rig with a 28' mast. Venture 17: The smallest Mac ever, fractional rig, built in the early 1970's Venture 21 (Mac 21): The original mass produced Mac, produced from 1967 until 1987, early models had upper and lower shrouds, but no spreaders, later models had spreaders. Venture 22: Built from the early 1970's until the mid 80's when it was redesigned into the MacGregor 22, all were masthead rigs with a 24 foot mast. Venture 222: Just like the 22, except with a pop top. Venture 24: Built from the late 1960's until the early 1970's when it was replaced by the Venture 25, fractional rig with a 28' mast and a unique 11' long boom. Venture 25: Built from the early 1970's until it became the MacGregor 25 in the mid 1980's, fractional rig with a 28' mast. We can also get sails for most other boat models. Please call for prices.
