What future plans do you and Cheryl have for cruising and racing the Pearl? Our goal is to spend some time getting to know the boat and then go out for some races. We have race numbers now and will need to get our rating and club affiliation before next year. We recently trailered the Pearl to Newport Beach CA to allow Roger to spend some time with the boat, and to go out to Catalina Island. Click here to see some pictures from our trip. We are planning to do the Newport to Ensenada race next year if plans stay on track. This is a 125 mile overnight ocean race we have done a number of times on Roger's MacGregor 70 and we are looking forward to doing it on our own boat. There are lot's of fun races in the Puget Sound area but one of our favorites is the around Shaw Island race held in the San Juan Islands in August. We may put this on our must list for next year. Cheryl needs to get her name on the first place trophy again! It's very tempting to put together a serious campaign to race this boat, but we have done that before and know the huge time commitment involved. With our commitment to our business and our customers, we do not have that much time left in our schedule. |
