Were all of the modifications done by
Blue Water Yachts?
No, we did a lot of the mods in house,
but not everything. Probably it's easiest to list things grouped by who
did the primary work. Things done by Roger Macgregor, or at the
MacGregor factory.
-
The actual changes to the fiberglass layup
-
Design of the keel bulb
-
Machining the foam patterns for the keel casting
-
Custom assembly to allow deleting unnecessary deck hardware
-
Design of reinforced daggerboard (Roger & I Together)
Things done by Blue Water Yachts
-
Design & fabrication of keel lifting hardware
-
Design & fabrication of keel bulb support hardware (cast
into keel bulb)
-
Fairing and preparation of keel pattern prior to casting
(actual casting outsourced)
-
Adjustable rudder crossbar
-
2 to 1 traveler system
-
Retractable bowsprit with traveler system
-
Ball bearing mast rotation system
-
Mast rotation control system
-
Running Backstays
-
Deck layout plan
-
Composite rigging
-
Custom entertainment system
-
Lightweight Composite / Teak interior bulkheads
-
Halogen interior lighting with dimmers
I think that's a pretty complete list, although there are LOTS
of little things we did along the way to help things work better, or just to
make stuff the way we wanted it on our own boat.
